Virtual Reflections

As our state moves into the 8th week of Shelter at Home, we continue to think about all of you and hope you are well. I recognize my own privilege in being able to work, shelter in a safe home and access supplies when needed. I help in the community where I can but often feel inadequate. While restrictions will gradually loosen in the next several weeks, the economic and social recovery will be much longer, and we will continue to hold all of you in our thoughts. Stronger together!

Like many of you, we are finding the ease and effectiveness of connecting online to be intriguing for long-term use in our industry. While in-person meetings will still be critical, I believe we’re going to see more good reasons to work and meet remotely. Occasional dog barks and not-wearing-pants jokes aside, video conferencing provides opportunity to have more connection, and working remotely in general is more inclusive because it can function regardless of geography, mobility or household circumstances.

Our team is looking forward to being together again in the office, but we’ll be embracing online connections too. Keep an eye out for Live Online webinars soon, and be prepared to share your video – we still love seeing your face and we’re happy to hear a dog bark in the background.
